We are so thrilled to be celebrating Pesach together! The Shtiebel strives to be an open and accessible home for all regardless of finances.  Suggested donations are $36 per child and $54 per adult.  These prices for our seder do not reflect the full cost of the programming, so please consider an additional donation to help offset the costs if you are able.

Pesach sameach!

Dear Shtiebel Seder-Goers,

We’re so blessed that you’ve chosen to join us for the Shtiebel Seder experience! At its core, this experience is about fulfilling the mitzvah of the Pesach Seder with a sense of curiosity, joy, and warmth. Everything we do will be in service of that goal!

We hope the evening will be a meaningful experience for you, so below are some tips to help you feel comfortable and fully participate. So far, around 60 attendees have signed up and we imagine there will be additional registrations this week.

TIMING: The Seder will be on Saturday Night, April 16 at the Shtiebel, 1321 South Juniper Street. We will start at 8:00 PM with some introductory activities and kiddush following that. There will be lots of snacks starting with Karpas beginning at around 8:30/8:45 PM. The evening will be a mixture of eating and drinking, storytelling, prayers, songs, meeting new people and discussing with them, learning, and large group activities. Rabbanit Fruchter will be facilitating the different segments of the evening, while other parts will take place at your table. It may seem chaotic at times, but pay attention and look up at the giant seder plate to know when to turn your attention back to the front of the room! The Seder will end between 11:30pm and midnight.

THE FOOD: We will be cooking a gorgeous Seder feast, which will be pareve/dairy. Don't worry - matzah ball soup is included :)

WHAT TO BRING: There will be handmade shmura matzah and grape juice, but we will not provide wine. You are welcome to bring your own kosher wine for the Seder (mevushal only, please!) and drop it off at the Shtiebel at any point this week.

FOR KIDS: Most of the activities we do will be great for all ages. We know a Seder goes late, however, so the Shtiebel has an awesome playroom and a pack and play for breaks and naps.

HAGGADAH: While you are welcome to bring your favorite Haggadah, we will provide you with all the text you need, transliterated and translated from Hebrew. Some of the traditional texts will be summarized and not said word for word, but you can take the haggadah we provide along with you as we go on our journey. If you would like to make sure to recite each word, feel free to do so. We’ll update you about where we are.

Listen and learn from each other. As we learn from the four children, there are many different ways to experience the Seder, and understanding different perspectives will help enrich our time together. Even if something is surprising or unusual, try to stretch yourself to be curious and respectful. Please don’t hesitate to ask me if something is unclear or just interesting - questions are the cornerstone of the Seder!

Chag Kasher V’Sameach,

Rabbanit Fruchter
